Not great, but definitely not bad

The book isn't very helpfully structured. Some of the subjects are spread out pretty unintuitively between chapters, some of the chapters meander instead of digging into the subject right away, and the index is frustrating (they apparently didn't want it to take up a lot of space, so they cut it down, so much so that I had trouble finding concepts I'd taken notes on during my first read-through of the book).
All that being said, this is otherwise a solid textbook. There's a lot of information, a lovely variety of sample forms, and it's great at introducing and explaining new vocabulary words/phrases. I think if you're very careful and systematic about how you use this textbook (load it up with Post-It bookmarks, keep careful notes on where you'll find concepts you're studying, etc.), it might be very helpful for you.
