The book is used in Greek Scrabble tournaments since it is based on the best two Modern Greek language dictionaries and complies with the word-acceptance rules of tournament play. About the Author
Christos Tzimas started the first Greek Scrabble club (Kastoria, 1999), strongly contributed to the making of Greek competitive Scrabble rules and organized the first Greek Scrabble Championship in 2005. He has also published the list of 7-letter words (bingos) in 2006 and translated Stefan Fatsis’ “Wordfreak” into Greek (2007). Yannis Papavlassiou kept all Greek Scrabble tournament statistics and data for a long time, being a member of the Scrabble Club of Thessaloniki. He contributed to the tournament and club play for years.
