It has a clear and concise description of the four Cs then suggestions for developing curriculum to teach them in K-12. Should I teach the class again (I am an adjunct.), I may require the students to purchase it.

I love the acronym for awesome cleverly put together by the writer that covers the entire content of this book. A is for being appreciative, I absolutely agree on this one, as life can never be awesome if you are not appreciative of all the things you possess, even the tiniest thing.

This could also sum up to being content and grateful for everything. I find this book very inspirational I could mention the entire acronym but have to stop at A to keep something for you to be curious about.

This is a very well written book that is filled with practical and thought provoking ideas on living your life to the fullest. Plus inspiring stories in between Michael's pieces of advice.

AWESOME IN HOURS IS AN AWESOME READ!

This is another enjoyable, entertaining and lessons-to-be-learned book from bestseller Michael Unks.

The book kicks off with A for being appreciative. How can we appreciate our situation even if it is difficult; the author suggests reading "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. What is very inspiring about this chapter and Michael's writing style in general is he is very open about his life and how he can teach what he knows to everyone who is willing to listen. I enjoyed the part about how his grandmother didn't enjoy his audiobook so he had to redo it.

W stands for being well-balanced and covers how to avoid putting too much on your plate by balancing the activities you need to get done as compared to doing everything. We have to spend our willpower currency so that we have a healthy balance in our lives.

E means being Empathetic and discusses:

1. "I'll be nice to you if you be nice to me."
2. Find the strength to forgive and understand people who hurt you.
3. Being more empathetic lets you let go of the negative stuff but hold onto the positive too.

S if for Strategic and gives great strategies for going after everything you want and fulfilling your bucket list; O is about being original by learning to be yourself and not just imitate or copy others. Get comfortable by being in your own skin.

M means being Mature by handling criticism and rejection; analyse your relationships and decide if they are helping or hurting you; be who you are the priority in your life. Finally we have E that stands for Empowerment [my favourite topic] and tells us that our thoughts are who we are; we need to dispel the negative and embrace our positive thinking.

As this books message clearly states, we can be AWESOME by being Appreciative, Well-Balanced, Empathetic, Strategic, Original, Mature and Empowered.

What I really liked about this book is how it is organized for easy reading. All of the letters stand for one of the principles in the book and that keeps the reader interested in what is coming up next. Stock full of value and life lessons that are engaging, Awesome In Hours is a definite must-read!

Wise beyond his years, Michael Unks has delivered yet another book for people who want a more fulfilling life. From the first chapter to the last, he offers insightful suggestions for relief from unhappiness and he details steps we can take to create more fulfilment and happiness in every day. The quotes selected to open each chapter set the tone very nicely, and the takeaways at the end of each chapter are easy to use, practical ways to apply the chapter's lesson in day-to-day life. This author is a wonderful storyteller and the personal experiences and anecdotes he shares highlight his message in vivid color. A wonderful and inspiring book for anyone!

Extremely well done

Time series models are a powerful tool for analyzing financial and economic data, but they tend to be difficult for students to grasp. Most texts are rather unhelpful as they are either "preaching to the choir" by assuming some familiarity with the concepts, or they assume a very mathematically gifted audience and spend not nearly enough time fleshing out foundational ideas that students do not find obvious. As an undergraduate economics student many years ago I enrolled in a time series class, only to drop it a month later because the textbook was written at a level that rendered it totally useless to an uninitiated beginner (and the instructor was of little help, unfortunately). Later, in grad school, I took time series analysis and had a wonderful experience. I have always believed that if you have either a great teacher or a great textbook (both would be the ideal!), this material should be accessible to Business masters students and undergraduates from finance and a number of other fields and backgrounds. I had all but given up on finding such a textbook, until coming across this offering by Gloria Gonzalez-Rivera.

After reading through this excellent text, I believe I could teach time series from this text without leaving students behind in the process. The author very carefully and methodically builds a foundation from basic principles, never assuming students will just get it without a detailed explanation. Examples based on real data that illustrate the concepts are given throughout. I have also been a big fan of Eviews software for the last 15 years, and this text integrates the use of EViews throughout. Perfect! I am considering a new course in financial econometrics at my university that would be largely based on this text. Prior to the appearance of this text, the time series component of such a course would have been much less ambitious. Superbly done!

Rent is good, purchase is not

There are too few textbooks on Forecasting, maybe that is why the book is priced so high and it might not be worth buying it.
But the renting service helps solve the problem. For someone who works hard and spend time to read most/all of it, one semester is more than enough. The format, fonts, and language are all nice. The instructions for EViews are very clear and step-by-step based. Examples and sources of data are also interesting and helpful.

From practical and applicable viewpoint, it is a good book. From theoretical viewpoint, there are some drawbacks (per my professor). Denotations and derivations are not as strong as hard core fundamental theory books. But that is the trade-off. Overall, good book, great renting service with several reminders before return date, plus option to rent for 1-2 more weeks.

The author is very good in explain a complex contents in a very simple way. She use various examples to explain different techniques. I found this book very useful to help me to learn forecasting. I definitely will recommend this book.
